Some things will never change, and no matter how Private or Secure a website seems, the user will always have doubts when posting their personal information. This is a major reason why many surveys and comments cannot be counted fully and accurately. Since fraud and identity theft are major concerns, it has become difficult to freely maneuver online. Privacy is he eye of the participant and having the control to access information that we need or are interested in. However, often we will log on to a page or perform research on a particular website and have hundred of cookies or junk mail following the profiled user. As far as confidentiality it is an extension of privacy but focusing primarily on data. Therefore all the information we are providing to an online source, such as name, DOB, address, status, etc. is considered data and should be protected from inappropriate disclosures. Privacy and confidentiality are two things we should always consider when browsing or signing up to online things. Would a person ever be informed if one of the websites violated their Privacy and Confidentiality agreement?
