Creativity and new media

Creativity

Creativity is defined as the ability to transcend traditional ideas, rules, patterns, relationships, or the like, and to create meaningful new ideas, forms, methods, interpretations, etc. Today, creativity is highly supported and allowed to be expressed through new media such as You Tube. It allows users to upload videos and show their originality. Twitter is another way of expressing creativity, and as said in the article by New York Times:  “Technology companies have been the most active in relying on others to innovate for them”. Many people believe that producers are responsible for the innovative idea or product, but in fact consumers come up with ideas for products. “Open-source software companies leave innovation up to users, and companies like Bug Labs let people build their own hardware”.  This is a great approach for start up companies who are still trying to define their products.
